Moulin des Sandaux

Country/Region

Domaine du Moulin des Sandaux is located in the middle of the green, hilly surroundings of the Dordogne in the Aquitaine region. This region consists of 5 departments, of which the Dordogne, Lot et Garonne and Les Landes are the best known. The Périgord Pourpre is the old name of the area around Domaine du Moulin des Sandaux and is named after the former province of Périgord.

In the immediate vicinity are Saint-Émilion, Bergerac and Duras, beautiful old towns. Saint Émilion is unique and is even on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The region is rich in historic buildings, medieval castles and prehistoric sites such as the castle of Montbazillac and the valley of Les Eyzies. The area offers various options for all kinds of sporting activities, such as canoeing, hiking, cycling and mountain biking. And don't forget the beautiful wine routes in and around the Entre deux Mers wine region.

Camping

Domaine du Moulin des Sandaux is a small holiday park with a small campsite, located near the hamlet of Les Sandaux and Saint-André-et-Appelles, about 5 km from Sainte-Foy-la-Grande. It is located in the middle of a large wine region with many wine chateaux. In Sainte-Foy-la-Grande you will of course find a bakery, a butcher, a supermarket, various restaurants, tourist information and other facilities. Furthermore, the area is perfect for making trips.

In the middle of the domain is a historic mill from the 17th century with the restaurant, a bar, and a cozy terrace overlooking the swimming pool. A small, refreshing stream runs right through the domain. The Tendi Safari tents stand among the fruit trees and overlook a small fishing lake. Of course there is a wonderful swimming pool with a separate children's pool. There is also a playground for the little ones among us. In the evening you can enjoy the rich gastronomy, local products and local wines in the restaurant or on the terrace. Some of these local specialties can be purchased in the shop at the reception.
