L' Ardechois

Camping L'Ardechois is located in the green heart of the northern Ardeche. L'Ardechois is located in a very peaceful area, surrounded by nature, it is 8 km from the village of St.Sauveur-de-Montagut. The nature in the northern Ardeche is spectacular and can be derived from the fact that L'Ardechois is lying on the edge of the Park Natural Regionel de Monts d' Ardeche. Furthermore the Ardeche is a perfect place for making day trips, for example to the cascade Ray Pic, the old volcano Gerbier du Jonc or the highest mountain of the Ardeche, the Mont Mezenc. The location is extremely suitable for cyclists and hikers.

Camping 

L'Ardechois is a quiet, small family campsite in a natural environment. The campsite is under Dutch management and has a very special atmosphere. On the campsite you are truly a guest and certainly not a number. It is ideal for lovers of peace and comfort and consists out of 2 parts (separated by a quiet road) with various terraces. The tendi Safari tents (without bathroom) are on a lower plateau, near the river called Gluyere. The Tendi lodgetents with private bathroom and floor/loft are on the top of the campsite, on a long terrace and have a beautiful view on the valley.

The Tendi Lodgetents have 3 bedrooms and an impressive veranda with lounge set. Along the river Gluyere the children can swim, build dams and fish. Of course there is a splendid (heated) swimming pool with a separate children's pool,sun beds, wicker umbrellas and a beautiful view. Furthermore in the high season there is (dutch-speaking) animation for the children, sports field and various playgrounds. At the village St. Sauveur-de-Montagut (8km)there are additional all facilities available, such as a supermarket, a bakery a butcher, shops with local produce, post office, tourist information, various cafes and restaurants and there is a market every Saturday.

  • The area surrounding the campsite is ideal for day trips, it is a beautiful region for cyclists
  • Visit the weekly market on Friday in La Voulte on Wednesday in Le Cheylard or on Saturday at St. Sauveur-de-Montagut
  • Canoe trip on the L' Eyrieux
  • Canyonning
  • Aquarock a climbing trail over and along the river with long cable cars
  • Climb the old volcano Gerbier du Jonc
  • Waterfalls of Ray Pic
  • Vallon Pont d'arc with the famous and natural arch bridge (73km 1 hour 30 minutes drive)
  • Aloha water amusement park Montelimar with a wave pool, a slide of 80 meters, a bubble bath, children's pool and a water playground
  • Flea markets in La Voulte ( every 4th Sunday of the month) or in Tournon ( every 3rd Sunday of the month )
  • On Tuesday there is a weekly market market in Lamastre, but you can also make a trip with an old steam train from Lamastre to Tournon
  • Valance ( cozy old centre) with the cathedral and park Jouvet
  • Safari park of Peaugres, nice zoo and safari park in one
  • Montelimar, known from the nougat, with the city gate Saint Martin and Chateau des Adhemar
